Higashikoganei HouseA collection of small boards that frame the scenery
Horizontal and vertical boards—a single one creates a space, and their accumulation builds designs from small to large. This Higashikoganei House stands in a blessed surrounding environment. While large windows facing the scenic view could be one solution, it deliberately frames the landscape in small sections. Each frame is then combined in the residents' imagination, evoking the overall scenery and creating a space where one gains new awareness of the familiar view. Through the use of boards of varying sizes (floors and walls), spaces with differing light and shadow, ceiling heights, and room sizes emerge one after another. Their connections and functions are diverse. This home is uniquely suited for residents with flexible thinking.
